2016 Kia Soul plus: ECO Package

2016 Kia Soul+ plus
There are 3 different trim levels for the 2016 Kia Soul; Soul, Soul +(plus) and the Soul!(exclaim). If you are trying to decide on which trim level, let it be known that the Soul + with the ECO Package has the potential to give you a 15% fuel and emission savings. With a combination of different driving conditions, it still ads up to fuel savings of 6%.
Without doing the math, that savings, over time, could be attributed to upgrading to the Soul+ trim level.
Soul+ Eco Package
Today, we will go into some details on what you receive when you purchase ECO Package for the Soul+ trim-level. It includes the Idle Stop & Go (ISG) System and the Low Rolling Resistance Tires.
ECO Package: Stop & Go – ISG
ISG is one of the newest advances in improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions. The 2016 Kia Soul ISG system, sometimes called stop-go technology, automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle is stuck in traffic, immediately and seamlessly starting it again when the driver needs to move. This is a particularly awesome feature in areas with frequent traffic jams and/or traffic lights.
While Kansas City generally doesn’t have bumper-to-bumper traffic like LA, I can think of a many times when having the ISG feature in my Kia would have saved me a lot of money!
However, the engine is not switched off if certain conditions relating to safety and comfort have not been fulfilled (for example, when the engine oil is still cold, when the battery is running low or when the outside temperature is below 3º C or 37F). It can be deactivated by pressing the ISG OFF switch on the crash pad lower panel.

ECO Package: Low Rolling Resistance Tires
The low rolling resistance tires reduce fuel usage through less road friction. They minimize wasted energy as a tire rolls which improves vehicle fuel efficiency. They work together with the ISG system to make your Soul+ as fuel efficient as possible.
Both ISG and Low Rolling Resistance Tires features are commonly found in hybrid and electric vehicles, but the Soul + ECO Package puts more gas money in your pocket, while cutting your carbon footprint, without having to pay the high price tag of a hybrid or electric vehicle.
