A Much Awaited Transformation – The All New 2023 Kia Sportage

2023 Sportage X-Pro

You’ve certainly seen Kia Sportage models before, but they’ve never looked quite like this. Kia is debuting a new stylish look for its 2023 Sportage, with trail-ready versions available for your off-road adventures. Kia brings the latest technology to both design and function for a powerful driving experience.

It might seem early to be thinking about buying a new 2023 model car, but actually, the latest Sportage will be available very soon! Kia will release the gas-powered version of the new Sportage in the first quarter of 2022, with a hybrid model to follow later in the year.

Not Just a Redesign, a Total Transformation

This is the most vivid redesign that the Sportage has experienced in its history. You’ll notice the difference when you first approach the vehicle. The front grille has been redesigned, and the Sportage has new boomerang daytime running lights. Sharp lines and angles give the Sportage a futuristic appearance, with rugged details.

The Kia Sportage is now longer, taller, and more spacious inside.  The overall length is 7.1 inches longer than previous models, and it has a 3.4-inch longer wheelbase. There are 41.3 inches of legroom in the rear seats, more than most vehicles in its class. The rear cargo area has 39.6 cubic feet of space. The engine also gets an upgrade, with a base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, and projected output of 187 hp. Despite the larger size and more powerful engine, this model actually has better fuel economy than previous versions.

On the inside, the Sportage features a dual panoramic curved display with two 12.3-inch screens, one for the digital instrument cluster, and the other for the infotainment system. An available 360-degree Surround-View Monitor with a 3D view can provide the driver with a bird’s-eye view of the vehicle and its surroundings, for extra safety. There are USB ports throughout the vehicle, hooks to hold cords, and an available wireless smartphone charger. You can use the internet on the go with an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot, which can connect up to five devices.  Make the most of the Apple CarPlay or Android Auto smartphone functions, which are standard on all trim levels.

Kia’s redesigned seats are inspired by modern furniture, making the ride feel as comfortable as if you were sitting in your own living room. There are also some smart storage solutions on the interior, such as cupholders that can be removed to better hold a phone or tablet.

All-New Trim Levels

Sportage previously came with LX, EX, SX, and SX-Prestige trim levels. Now, there are new adventure-ready trims available that can take you off the road on every type of terrain. Each of the new trims has standard all-wheel drive and a 1.5-inch increased ground clearance. They also feature SynTex synthetic leather seats and a tread-like stitching pattern. All-terrain tires are also available for these models.

The X-Line features 17-inch matte-black off-road wheels, B.F. Goodrich all-terrain tires, and multi-terrain drive modes. It includes settings for Normal, Sport, Smart, and Snow. You’ll be prepared for whatever type of road is on your trip. Raised roof rack rails are perfect for stowing your camping or sporting equipment.

Sportage X-Pro has the same rugged look and driving features as the X-line, and also includes LED projector headlights, LED fog lights, and an optional two-tone roof.

The X-Pro Prestige has all the sturdy power of the other adventure trims, but features extra comfort on the inside, with ventilated front seats, and an 8-way power front passenger seat.

Hybrid models coming soon

Although they aren’t available just yet, Kia is also releasing a hybrid version of the Sportage this year. It will be powered by a combination of gasoline and electric battery power, to help you make the most of your gas mileage and care for the environment. Stay tuned to learn more about this innovative option.

With so many different Sportage options, it’s hard not to find the design that best fits your family’s busy lifestyle, whether it’s camping far from civilization or hauling equipment around a crowded city.
